Log Thickness is Essential.

The Log thicknesses for a log house can vary from 70 mm to 220 mm and it is recommend that when you are purchasing your home the thickness you will need in bungalows and two-story houses a 112 mm, this coupled with a 100 mm insulation on the interior along with either 12 mm plasterboard or 15 mm log paneling will give you a very warm and well insulated home, you must remember that you will still need building control and planning permission for any building. When you have the right insulation in place you will be surprised at how warm and cozy your home will be but you must not forget to get high quality windows and doors or all your heat will be lost, because of some of the problem that may occur if you have bought lesser quality windows and doors is they may swell or twist creating droughts in your log home.
