Log cabin homes do i need planning permission ?

When it comes to log cabin homes generally if the building is just for leisure use or is going to be constructed in your garden as a home office, As long as the size of your building is less than 30 sqm floor area with more than 1m from any neighbors boundary’s  then you may not need any planning permission or building regulation approval.

If your log structure is going to be more than 30 sqm then building regulations approval should be checked and the easiest way is to contact your local planning office for more information.

If you are going to have a building attached or sited very close to a house you will also need to find out if any permission is going to be needed as they may be considered the building an extension to the house which can require planning and building permission.
