Log Thickness

When it comes to a log thicknesses for a log house it can vary from 70 mm to 220 mm, a minimum thickness for bungalows and two-story houses would be 112 mm, this thickness along with a 100 mm insulation on the interior and either 12 mm plasterboard or 15 mm log paneling would give you a very warm and well insulated home.

When you have the correct insulation in place you will be surprised at how warm your log home will be but do not neglect the quality of your windows and doors or you could lose all your heat as poor quality windows and doors may swell or twist creating droughts in your log home.

Just remember that you will still need building control and planning permission for any building.
